The Nymphenburg Cardiac Catheterization Lab was founded in January 1994. The catheterization laboratory represents an exemplary collaboration between practice-based cardiologists and a large Munich clinic. Together, the cardiologists of the two group practices, in Burgstrasse and the HGZ (Cardiovascular Center) in Maffaistrasse, run the cardiac catheterization lab at the Dritter Orden Clinic. This creates a multifaceted synergy via the close interlinking of outpatient and inpatient care. And what’s more, heart specialists from every branch of cardiology/internal medicine are ready to assist. The Nymphenburg Cardiac Catheterization Lab offers and routinely carries out the following procedures:
- Coronary angiography (examination of the coronary vessels)
- PTCA/stent implantation
- Electrophysiology study
- Catheter ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, WPW syndrome, atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contractions
- Pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation
- Implantation of defibrillators and pacemakers
- Implantation of event monitors
- Implantation of closure systems for atrial septal defects
- LAA closure
- Cardioversions
- Implantation of heart valves (in collaboration with the German Heart Centre Munich)
